During the post-ROH Supercard of Honor press conference, POST Wrestling’s John Pollock asked Tony Khan about The Boys’ statement regarding their releases from the company. Khan said he’s not moved by it and stands by what he said.
When Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston asked about the 10 talent releases on 4/1, Khan said he has nothing against any of the individuals that were cut. He explained that he’s spent more money than he was expecting to this year, adding that the entrance songs for Eddie Kingston (Cold World) and Mark Briscoe (Lynyrd Skynyrd) sum up what would be a year’s salary for some wrestlers. Khan said he’d welcome any of the released talent back under the right circumstances, including The Boys.

A statement from Brandon & Brent Tate.
On 4/1, there were a total of 10 releases from the AEW/ROH talent roster and included in that group were The Boys (Brandon & Brent Tate).
On the ROH Supercard of Honor media call, AEW/ROH owner Tony Khan said The Boys did not show up for work. The duo released a joint statement and text messages in response. They planned to stay quiet on the matter to avoid taking away from Supercard of Honor on 4/5, but due to the comments from Khan, they feel they do not have another option.
They were told they would be included in the storyline involving Dalton Castle, Johnny TV and Taya Valkyrie leading up to the pay-per-view. It was insinuated to them that if they could pitch several ideas for themselves, they would get the opportunity to show that they can wrestle more in the future.
It is noted that for an ROH taping in March, their travel was booked out of Nashville instead of their home airport in Knoxville. They were contacted on April 1st and told their releases are due to ‘budget cuts’. They were assured it had nothing to do with the travel situation.
They reached out about Tony’s comments and asked for him to clear it up. They have yet to receive a response.
