AEW’s upcoming Battle of the Belts episode has its first match.
Rocky Romero will take on AEW International Champion Roderick Strong in a title eliminator match at the promotion’s April 13th Battle of the Belts card in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
The title eliminator bout was made on this week’s episode of Collision, where Romero asked for the match against Strong.

“There ain’t nobody more international than Azucar,” Romero said, making his case for a match that could lead to his first-ever AEW title reign.
Strong accepted the matchup backstage and said Romero will be able to tell his kids “that he got beat by a wrestling legend” afterwards.
While a win for Rocky next week won’t earn him a title, it will give him an opportunity in the future at the belt. The upcoming booking will be the first time that a non-title fight joins a Battle of the Belts lineup.
The 10th edition of Battle of the Belts will air on Saturday immediately following an episode of AEW Collision. The show usually follows a theme of title matches, although title changes have been a rarity on the program. The last title change on Battle of the Belts dates back to April 2022, when Sammy Guevara defeated Scorpio Sky for the TNT Championship.
