Deeb heaps praise onto Toni Storm.
The ‘Timeless’ persona led Toni Storm to her third and current reign as AEW Women’s World Champion. Next up on the docket for Storm is a defense against Thunder Rosa at the Dynasty pay-per-view on April 21st.
A fellow member of the AEW women’s division, Serena Deeb, heaped praise onto Storm’s character work as she was doing a virtual signing for RDP Promotions. She called Storm one of her favorite women in the business and added that it’s inspiring to see someone have something click like that.
Yes, yes (another match between myself & Toni Storm will happen). It happened once. It happened at Grand Slam, a year-and-a-half ago. In New York.
That was a really cool show and she’s one of my favorite women in the business. I think she’s absolutely crushing it… I love it, I love it (‘Timeless’ character). It’s so different, I think she’s embracing it and she’s just found — as a wrestler, sometimes it takes years and years to find something that clicks that you vibe with and that you can get behind and continue to develop. For myself, ‘The Professor’, I’ve been wrestling since 2005. I’ve been in the wrestling business for almost 20 years, since I was 18 and this ‘Professor’ character just started what? Four years ago? So, my point is it takes a long time for a lot of people to cultivate something, like a really, really strong character and Toni Storm has done that for sure with this ‘Timeless’ and I love watching it. It’s inspiring to see somebody have something click like that and I think she’s firing on all cylinders right now and I think she’s awesome in the ring too. Awesome.
Deeb was featured on the 4/5 edition of Rampage during which she bested Trish Adora in singles competition. On the proceeding episode of Collision, Yuka Sakazaki defeated Adora and then Deeb came out to address Sakazaki.
