Jon Moxley wins IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Shota Umino saves Moxley from Ren Narita attack

Moxley is now the man in New Japan.

Headlining NJPW Windy City Riot was the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match between Jon Moxley and the champion Tetsuya Naito.

It took three ‘Death Riders’, but the third was the one to put Naito away and for Moxley to become the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. It is the first time that this iteration of NJPW’s top title has changed hands in the USA. Moxley is now the first wrestler to win the WWE, AEW and IWGP World Championships.

Moxley grabbed a microphone and stated that his first order of business is to nominate a challenger to his title and he called out Shota Umino. Before Umino could come out, Moxley was ambushed by HOUSE OF TORTURE’s Ren Narita, who stated that he’ll be the first challenger.

Umino ran down and made the save. He then helped Moxley to the backstage area.
