Riddle also speaks about losing the NJPW World TV Title.

Matt Riddle had a five-year run with WWE that came to an end in 2023. Riddle is now back on the independent scene and working dates for New Japan Pro-Wrestling and MLW.

Looking back at his WWE run, he told Knockouts and 3 Counts about the time when he rode a camel to the ring at WWE Crown Jewel 2021. Riddle opted not to say what was done to the camel the night before the event.

I gotta say the best part was I think I was the first guy to do it in WWE — was ride a camel. Ride a camel in Saudi Arabia. I’m not gonna say what they did to that camel the day before. I don’t think it’s legal here in the States… I had no say in it. When I saw the camel, the camel was friendly to me. Gave it some pets and it walked me to the ring. But, I know Logan Paul did it after I left, but I was the first one to ride a camel to the ring.

Riddle is coming off of losing the NJPW World Television Championship to Zack Sabre Jr. at Windy City Riot. He reflected on that bout:

So with my style, especially with the (NJPW) TV Championship, worked out very well, and then I got to wrestle Zack Sabre Jr. the other day and even though I lost the championship to him, it was a great match. He knows what he’s doing in the ring, I know what I’m doing in the ring and you know… to be in the ring with people that can actually protect themselves if things get a little wild.

In media appearances after his exit from WWE, Riddle claimed he was supposed to make $1 million per year on his deal and that he was supposed to win the 2022 men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match
