Orange Cassidy calls out Shane Taylor: ‘Why don’t you try to knock me out later tonight?’

Orange Cassidy has his sights set on the members of Shame Taylor Promotions.

Cassidy confronted Shane Taylor and Anthony Ogogo in a recent AEW social media segment, calling for a match on tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

While Taylor and Ogogo were bragging about recent knockouts over Chris Jericho and Katsuyori Shibata in the lobby of a hotel, Cassidy came into the room and approached the duo.

“I saw what you did to Shibata,” Cassidy said. “I’ve been losing a lot of friends lately, and I don’t appreciate you knocking out the only ones I have left. So why don’t you try to knock me out later tonight?”

While Cassidy was speaking to both Taylor and Ogogo, Taylor was the one specifically who knocked out Shibata. It looks like a single match between them is a possibility for tonight’s show.

Cassidy has had a rough few weeks on the AEW program, missing out on a tag title shot and then being betrayed by Trent Beretta. He’s now looking to turn around his luck by sticking up for Shibata.

Shortly after the video was posted, it was confirmed that Cassidy would face Taylor as part of tonight’s card. It will be joining a busy lineup from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Here’s what is currently being billed for the show:

  • Adam Copeland & Willow Nightingale vs. Julia Hart & Brody King
  • Claudio Castagnoli vs. Will Ospreay
  • Swerve Strickland talks
  • Samoa Joe talks
  • Taz “brokers a meeting” with Chris Jericho and Hook
  • The Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson) vs. Pac, Daniel Garcia & Penta El Zero Miedo
  • Jon Moxley returns
  • Deonna Purrazzo vs. Mariah May
  • Orange Cassidy vs. Shane Taylor
