This past weekend, AEW’s three-hour programming block saw Collision stay consistent while Rampage benefited from the two-hour lead-in.
The April 20 programs saw Collision average 461,0000 viewers and 171,000 viewers (0.13) in the 18-49 demographic from 8-10 p.m. ET on TNT followed by Rampage with 397,000 viewers and 168,000 (0.13) among the core demo, per Wrestlenomics.
Collision saw minimal change from the prior week with a one percent decrease in overall viewership and its 18-49 audience. Adults 18-34 dropped from 37,000 to 32,000 this week while the 35-49 category increased from 136,000 to 139,000.
The beneficiary was Rampage, which posted its largest figures since March 20 when the show aired on Wednesday immediately following a live edition of Dynamite. Excluding the March 20 show, it was Rampage’s largest numbers since February 9.
Rampage’s audience grew by thirty-five percent and the 18-49 audience improved by sixty-five percent from the Friday, April 12 program in its regular slot.
In the 18-49, female viewership grew by seventy-five percent while males saw a fifty-three percent jump. Adults 18-34 went from 33,000 to 46,000 viewers with males doubling from last Friday’s show. Adults 35-49 moved from 69,000 to 122,000 viewers with women nearly doubling from 24,000 to 46,000 this week.
While the NBA and NHL playoffs were airing on Saturday, AEW did not have to contend with a UFC or WWE event head-to-head. There was a live TNA Rebellion pay-per-view airing against AEW.
Collision included a Trios match with Kazuchika Okada & Young Bucks vs. PAC & FTR and a Bunkhouse Brawl as Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli faced Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher. The live edition of Rampage opened with an elimination four-way match involving Rob Van Dam, Isiah Kassidy, Komander, and Lee Johnson.
