Raj Dhesi, formerly known on WWE programming as Jinder Mahal, is back on the independent scene.
Black Label Pro announced Dhesi for their July 26 “Old Habits Die Screaming” show in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday. The event is Dhesi’s first booked appearance since his latest WWE run came to an end just over a month ago. His opponent has yet to be revealed.
Dhesi, a former WWE Champion, departed the promotion earlier this year as part of a wave of roster cuts. His exit from the promotion came just months after he headlined an episode of Monday Night Raw against then-champ Seth Rollins, and shortly after he appeared in the annual Andre The Giant Battle Royal.
The 37-year-old Canadian wrestler has spent a better part of the past decade on the WWE roster. He briefly worked on the independent scene after leaving the roster in 2014 but was brought back to WWE in 2016 for what would end up being his longer of the two runs in the promotion.
