Ricochet is reportedly no longer on the WWE roster.
Fightful Select has recently reported that Ricochet’s contract with WWE expired on July 1, ending a deal with the company that was first reached in 2018. The promotion has also moved him to the “Alumni” section of their roster page, implying that his time with them has come to a close.
The 35-year-old wrestler was written off Monday Night Raw programming a few weeks back after suffering an attack from Bron Breakker. In recent months he had been a fixture in WWE’s new social media show “Speed,” briefly holding the brand’s belt.
Ricochet wrestled over 500 matches for WWE over the past six years. He started out in the promotion’s developmental NXT brand, earning the North American Championship while on the Florida-based show. He moved up to the main roster in 2019, where he went on to have reigns with the Intercontinental and United States Championships.
The end of his WWE career opens up opportunities in a wrestling landscape that has changed greatly since he was last an independent wrestler. He could head to AEW and reunite against former rival Will Ospreay. He might go to NJPW, a promotion where he turned heads with his high-flying style. Or he could test out the various other options across the wrestling world, remaining active across numerous markets like a Mustafa Ali or Nic Nemeth.
