August will be the final month of Ishikawa’s in-ring career.
Big Japan Pro Wrestling held a press conference on July 8th and the focus of the presser was the announcement that Yuki Ishikawa is going to be retiring from in-ring competition.
The 28-year-old talent has been working with BJW since the beginning of his in-ring career in 2018. The date of his final match is set to be August 12th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
He mentioned that he’s been dealing with a shoulder injury since April and because of that, he’s been avoiding competing at shows on a consistent basis. He last wrestled for BJW on June 23rd. He made the decision to retire based on his body and future.
When it comes to his retirement match, he hopes to have Kazumi Kikuta as his opponent, whether it is a singles or a tag match. The two teamed together in the aforementioned 6/23 bout.
Ishikawa is not 100 percent certain what he’ll do after pro wrestling, but he is thinking of returning to his hometown of Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan.
