Kicking off Monday Night Raw was CM Punk, who cost Drew McIntyre his Money in the Bank cash-in at the Premium Live Event over the weekend. McIntyre was suspended for his actions during the post-show, during which he shoved three officials, one of which was Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. Punk asked for McIntyre’s suspension to be lifted so they can fight. Seth Rollins made his way out to the ring to confront Punk about the PLE. Rollins was challenging for the World Heavyweight Title when McIntyre cashed in. Initially, Punk was hesitant but he apologized to Rollins for interfering with his opportunity. He added that it’s hard to give a sincere apology because of who he’s delivering it to. Rollins told Punk that when he’s cleared, he’s coming after him. Adam Pearce will meet with McIntyre on the 7/15 Raw but told Punk he cannot be at the venue and Punk said he’ll comply.
On the 7/1 Raw, Karrion Kross fell in defeat to Xavier Woods but afterwards, he put Kofi Kingston in a submission that resulted in Kingston suffering an AC joint sprain.
After Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Dakota Kai & Kairi Sane) took on Kayden Carter, Katana Chance and Lyra Valkyria, Damage CTRL were ambushed by the newly-formed trio of Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre confronted the new trio backstage.
Seth Rollins met with his Money in the Bank opponent, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. He showed respect to him because The Judgment Day did not get involved in their title match. Priest called off their gentlemen’s agreement that was put in place. Rollins’ side was that if he lost, he could no longer challenge for the World Heavyweight Title as long as Priest is champion. Priest’s side was that if he lost, he had to leave Judgment Day.
Scheduled for the 7/15 show is the following:
- Damian Priest and GUNTHER to meet face-to-face
- Bronson Reed vs. Sheamus
The Grammy-award winning Zac Brown Band were seated front row.
