Monday Night Raw General Manager Adam Pearce expressed that he wants to see Drew McIntyre versus CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam. Before that can take place, he wanted McIntyre to apologize to referees Rod Zapata and Danilo Anfibio for shoving them during the Money in the Bank post-show. McIntyre refused to do that and Pearce stated that if he doesn’t, he’ll remain suspended. McIntyre shoved both referees again but Seth Rollins made his way to the ring to fight off Drew.
CM Punk is scheduled for the 7/22 Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
There was an in-ring segment with GUNTHER and World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest ahead of their title match at SummerSlam. GUNTHER called the champion ‘street trash.’ He spoke about how Priest’s parents failed to put him in proper position to have a good life while it was the opposite for him growing up. Priest told GUNTHER that he’ll lose at SummerSlam for the same reason he lost the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania XL and that is because GUNTHER has ‘no heart.’ Priest went on to compete in singles action and bested Braun Strowman. He fought with GUNTHER afterwards.
The Intercontinental Title was on the line in the main event as Sami Zayn defended against Ilja Dragunov. Bron Breakker, who was ‘sent home’ by Adam Pearce, crashed the main event. He speared Ilja and eventually speared Zayn.
Alpha Academy (Maxxine Dupri, Otis & Akira Tozawa) offered to help Xavier Woods fight The Final Testament on 7/22. It’ll be Woods, Otis and Tozawa versus Karrion Kross, Akam and Rezar.
Sonya Deville had her first televised match since July 2023. With assistance from Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, she defeated Zelina Vega. Kayden Carter, Katana Chance and Lyra Valkyria saved Vega from a post-match attack. The duo of Carter and Chance faced Baszler and Stark later in the show and on 7/22, Valkyria will face Deville.
