Earl Hebner refuses to “screw” Speedball Mike Bailey, leads to X Division title change

A surprise appearance by Earl Hebner led to Speedball Mike Bailey winning the X Division Championship at TNA Slammiversary.

X Division Champion Mustafa Ali defended his title against Bailey in Montreal on Saturday with Earl Hebner making a surprise appearance.

Bailey thought he had won the match with Ultima Weapon, but Ali’s foot touched the rope and referee Frank Gastineau continued the match. After Bailey missed and nailed Gastineau with a superkick, it left the match with a referee.

One of Ali’s riot squad members revealed himself to be Bailey’s partner, Trent Seven, and fought off the security detail to even the numbers for Bailey.

Ali took out Seven with a suicide dive and a chair shot before signaling for someone to come down to the ring where Hebner made his appearance.

Hebner was pelted with chants of, “You Screwed Bret” in the latest revival of the Montreal Screwjob as Ali applied the Sharpshooter. But, Hebner couldn’t bring himself to call for the bell and angered Ali.

Bailey kicked Ali’s chair away and he applied the Sharpshooter with Hebner calling for the bell and crowning a new X Division Champion.
