One of AEW’s power couples might soon be back on TV.
Sammy Guevara recently stated that both he and Tay Melo are training in preparation for their in-ring return, per a social media post.
Guevara and Melo have played big roles as part of AEW programming in the past, but haven’t been appearing on recent episodes of the promotion’s shows.
Melo has been out of competition for more than a year, staying out of the ring since announcing her pregnancy and later giving birth to their first child.
Melo’s last AEW match dates all the way back to January 2023, when she teamed with Anna Jay AS to face Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale in a street fight.
Guevara has been absent from AEW programming since February, reportedly being suspended by the promotion after causing a broken nose to Jeff Hardy during a match on Rampage. He had made on-and-off appearances on the promotions programming in the months prior.
A new post from Guevara indicates that the duo might both be back in the ring in the near future.
Just wanna say this mama right here is doing such a great job.
We are both training for our comebacks and I wish yall could see how much work she puts in. Some days are harder than others but she has been killing it, all while being a great mom and wife!

“Just wanna say this mama right here is doing such a great job,” Guevara said about Melo. “We are both training for our comebacks and I wish yall could see how much work she puts in. Some days are harder than others but she has been killing it, all while being a great mom and wife! She doesn’t give herself the credit so just wanna say you are doing great mama & we all can’t wait for your return”
In May, Melo said she was “a couple of months” away from being physically cleared.
