MJF retains AEW American Championship in his CMLL debut at Arena Mexico

MJF defeated Templario on at Arena Mexico on Friday night to retain his AEW American Championship.

Appearing on CMLL’s Viernes Espectacular show, MJF completed his first defense of the title.

Templario, the current CMLL World Middleweight Champion, was accompanied by KeMalito. Rocky Romero was in MJF’s corner.

Before the match, MJF insulted the crowd with Romero translating for him.

He won the match with a Brainbuster and attacked Templario and KeMalito with his title belt after the bell.

MJF will face Kyle Fletcher in a non-title match on the August 7th edition of AEW Dynamite.
