Drew McIntyre scores win over CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam

McIntyre bests Punk.

Since CM Punk’s return to WWE in November 2023, he’s been at odds with Drew McIntyre. After seven months since Punk was injured at the Royal Rumble, he competed in his first broadcast singles match since his comeback.

It was Punk versus McIntyre with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee.

Throughout the match, Punk was continuously focused on retrieving the bracelet that McIntyre took from him. The bracelet has the names of A.J. Mendez (A.J. Lee) and Punk’s dog Larry on it. During the bout, Rollins played the middleman and stopped McIntyre from using a chair and allowed them to brawl outside without count outs.

Punk took his attention off Drew when he saw Rollins sporting the bracelet, but Rollins only picked up so it would not be lying on the mat. After some words were exchanged, Punk gave Rollins a G.T.S. and took the bracelet back. He ran over to McIntyre but received a low blow.

McIntyre followed up with the Claymore Kick and when Rollins came to, he made the three count but reluctantly counted three. Rollins immediately exited the ring and McIntyre took the bracelet off Punk’s wrist.
